Travel Alone, Discover Yourself
Unaccompanied exists to document my solo travel journey — one country at a time — while empowering others to travel alone with confidence, intention, and self-trust.

Welcome To My Journey
Hi, I'm Dee
Solo traveller. Storyteller. And the person behind Unaccompanied.
My first solo trip was to Dallas, Texas, in 2010 — and honestly, it went wrong in almost every way.
I was unprepared, under-budgeted and completely out of my comfort zone. I found myself alone in a place I didn't know, trying to figure everything out as I went. It wasn't the experience I'd imagined, and for a long time afterwards, it put me off travelling alone.
But that trip ended up teaching me some of the most important lessons I now carry with me whenever I travel.
Years later, I decided to give solo travel another chance.
And this time, I wanted to do it differently.
Since then, I've travelled to 20+ countries, continuing to challenge myself, experience new cultures, explore unfamiliar places and discover just how much you can learn about yourself when you step outside your comfort zone.

Empowering Solo Journeys

I created Unaccompanied to document my journey, one country at a time and to empower other women to travel solo
This isn't about pretending I have travel completely figured out. It's about sharing what I've learned along the way: the things that worked, the things that didn't, the mistakes I've made and the things I wish I'd known before taking my first solo trip.
Here you'll find my travel experiences, itineraries, destination guides, costs, practical tips and solo travel lessons - all based on my own experiences.
Whether you're planning your first solo trip, looking for inspiration for your next destination, or simply want to see what it's really like to travel alone, I hope you find something here that helps.
